Trash Tags

I admire--envy might be a better word--people who make visual journals. I've tried to start my own but I never seem to get off the ground. I know it probably sounds silly, but I think it's my fear of messing up a pristine journal that keeps me from starting. I'm sure my fear of "wasting paper" goes back farther into my murky past than anyone, even me, wants to venture, so I'll just move forward.
I've discovered that I don't have the same fear of messing up "trash", because it's already sort of messed up when it becomes an art supply, so I've decided to make tags from everyday refuse that would either get recycled or go into the trash, then put the finished tags together into some sort of journal form.
I'm not going to commit to making a daily Trash Tag, but I'm going to try for at least a couple each week, and for now I think I'll string them onto one of those big, shiny keyring thingies. I may even add notes to the backs of some of them, making them into an almost real journal.

So glad to see you blogging again. I loved these tags, so unique and modern. You have natural artistic talent so just keep going. Plus you have the perfect studio for it. I'll be back.

Hi, thanks for stopping by to take a look, and for your kind words of encouragement. Glad you like my messy little studio too! ( ;

Wow, you have such an unusual artistic eye! I'm really impressed. I don't know if you've got your shop going yet, but I'm sure these items would sell really quickly. Looking forward to seeing more - it's all very inspirational, you know!

Thanks clarabelle, haven't got anything in my etsy shop yet, but I've got a few things in the works, and hope to have them posted after the holidays. Since I don't have a clue how to link to my flickr account from this post, if you'd like to see my latest doll/figures, click on the little flickr icon at the top of my blog, then find my "In Progress" folder, and look for "Triangle Girls'. (There's got to be a better way, but no time to look it up right now, sorry.)
I promise I'll let you know when I've got my LolliePatchouli etsy shop up and running.

Great job with these 'journal' tags! I also love tags of all shapes and sizes...

Thanks, I loved making them, and had big plans to make at least a couple each week, but I'm not doing as well with my "tag journal" as I'd like. I've got lots of bits and pieces, just haven't turned them into tags.
Hopefully your comment will give me the nudge I need to make some new tags.
I'd like to see some of your tags, do you have any of them on flickr?

I think I may have over-used the word 'tag' in that last comment. ( ;
