Apple trees connect me with the old farmhouse where I grew up - old apple trees are so 'clime-able' - good places to sit and wonder about things.

We've planted a lot of fruit trees over the years on our own place. Just now I'm pondering what to make of the last of the persimmons. These are very small 'native' persimmons, and this is the first year we've had a good crop. Last week I made my first ever buttermilk persimmon pudding - delicious, but a bit sweet.

Any ideas?aquamarinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06256480730459178641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4432929063096602198.post-39929786020175926062008-10-11T21:23:00.000-04:002008-10-11T21:23:00.000-04:00Wow I love your blog! Warm and fuzzy thoughts came to mind. Isen't it funny how certian foods bring back all of this? Thanks for the feeling!!! I love everything about people's past histories, even if I don't know them; there's always something to find that's of total inspiration.

Thanks for this, Melaine; it's made me feel less of a freak for being obsessed with my family history.

xxxflorencemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02241951928602452626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4432929063096602198.post-55456466655970049622008-09-14T15:58:00.000-04:002008-09-14T15:58:00.000-04:00Glad I made you hungry, if we lived nearer each ot...Glad I made you hungry, if we lived nearer each other, I'd offer you a piece of pie!( ;November Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03179291556232859864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4432929063096602198.post-87411622796656915512008-09-14T15:41:00.000-04:002008-09-14T15:41:00.000-04:00Hey! you've made me hungry! ;-)I loved to read the...Hey! you've made me hungry! ;-)
I loved to read the story about the orchard of your husbands grandfather!Joannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04830972620905700060noreply@blogger.com
